Violin by Peter Boardman, Donaghadee 2022
This instrument is based on the work of Giovanni Paolo Maggini.
It is a big, bold violin that plays with a direct and vibrant tone. The one piece back is of slab cut maple with a very lovely figure. The varnish is brown in colour.
This violin is something a bit different. An extrovert with double purfling; an experiment which has yielded a very enjoyable result.
